Electromechanic

Reporting to the Plant Manager / Operations Director, the Electromechanic is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of electromechanical equipment associated with the production, compression, storage, and distribution of industrial gases and hydrogen. They actively contribute to maintaining safe, reliable, and efficient facility operations.

Key responsibilities:

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Diagnose and repair compressors, pumps, cooling systems, heat exchangers, valves, motors, controllers, and measuring instruments.
• Participate in the installation, calibration, and commissioning of equipment related to industrial gases (O₂, N₂, Ar, CO₂, He) and hydrogen.
• Maintain up-to-date maintenance logs, inspection reports, and technical records in accordance with internal and regulatory standards (CNESST, RBQ, BNQ, TSSA, CSA, OSHA, etc.).
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to improve facility reliability and performance.
• Apply and adhere to safety protocols regarding pressurized gases, electricity, and potentially explosive environments (ATEX zones).
• Participate in ongoing training and the development of maintenance and safety procedures.
• Ensure system operational availability at all times, including responding to issues outside normal working hours (on-call).

• Vocational (DEP) or college-level (DEC) diploma in electromechanics, industrial maintenance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience, ideally in the industrial gas, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, or energy sectors.
• Solid knowledge of industrial electricity, automation, instrumentation, and control.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and process schematics (P&IDs).
• Good understanding of applicable safety standards (CNESST, RBQ, BNQ, CSA, TSSA, OSHA, etc.).
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a demanding and highly regulated environment.
• Experience with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Project).
• Strong sense of responsibility, attention to detail, and commitment to safety standards.

• Specific experience with hydrogen installations (electrolyzers), air separation units (ASU), or high-pressure compression systems.
• Knowledge of PLC system programming and operations (ABB, Siemens, or equivalent).
• Knowledge of high-voltage AC/DC operations and industrial electricity (non-construction).
• Bilingualism (French/English).
